Creative Futures 14 |Wednesday 2 April | The Forum Norwich
This year's event was one day instead of two but we managed to pack it all in just the same. There were 12 activity sessions run by experienced creative industry professionals, short talks, careers information and advisors who were available for with 1:2:1 guidance about getting started on a creative career pathway.
The theme and emphasis was DIY - do it yourself, make it yourself, record it yourself, help yourself - don't wait around for someone to discover you or give you a big break, you have to make your own chances. Creative Futures sessions were intended to offer the tools and the inspiration to do just that.
But you can only lead a horse to water so it will be up to you to make the most of your choices and opportunities. You will need to be quick and sharp, co-operate with getting to your sessions and really listen to and respect the people who are helping you. Ask them questions and they can help you get to the next step in your career.
